This year is just flying by. The older you get, the faster time goes by, I think. It seems like we were just getting through the Christmas holidays and that I started my last semester of undergrad. Now, I’ve already had two exams, multiple quizzes, and am finally locking everything in place for law school applications.
In the last week, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what I’d like to do for Tom this Valentine’s Day. It’s a very special one – our seventh Valentine’s Day together, but the first one that is significant because of our engagement. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on material objects; I’d much rather spend money on ingredients for a really nice dinner that I can cook at home. I think he would appreciate the time and effort put into that, too. Plus, he knows how much I enjoy cooking for him. Sounds like I just talked myself into cooking a meal for him, right? Now I just need to figure out what exactly I want to make. It’d be fun to use my new dessert cookbook and do something for him I’ve never made before.
What are your Valentine’s Day plans? If you’re cooking, what will you be making for your significant other?

we decided for this year, to use things in our house and be creative. therefore, i made “love coupons” for him out of index cards, used construction paper and an old shoe bow and decorated it, made him a heart-shaped card out of construction paper, and printing a “the best husband ever” award off the computer. he loved it because it was personal! i loved it because it was the first time i have ever done something so fun before. yes, i already gave him the present. i couldn’t wait until vday to give it to him. i was just wayyyy too excited!

I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet. I don’t believe you need the big materialistic gifts either. I’d be happy just going to a movie or something really simple!

I agree…the older you get, the faster it goes. How sad. :(
I have nooo idea what we are doing for Valentine’s Day. My nephew is going to be spending the night at my parents’ house (I rarely get to see him – my sister and BIL live out of town) so I doubt I’ll want to do much more than snuggle him. <3 I’m thinking of cooking, too, though…but I don’t know what yet! I will definitely make a cookie cake, because Will loooves cookies. Keep us updated on what you plan on making, I may have to steal your idea. ;)

Hmm. I’d forgotten Valentine’s Day was this week.
Cooking is always a great idea, nothing says time/effort/love like a good meal.

My valentine’s day plans…
I have none.
Maybe I’ll convince my parents to go out to eat or something. I’m not real concerned… I mean, I don’t have a “valentine” so I’m not real concerned about it. It’s just another day for me.
