Since school is kind of winding down (or at least I have a break in between papers and tests), I’ve been thinking about the tiny details about my wedding that I really haven’t had time to think about before. For instance, our first dance. I have a few songs on my list. In another post, I’m going to take a poll and see what you guys think because I’m curious to see what my readers would want my first dance to be out of the eight or so choices. I’ve also been thinking about what I’m going to get Tom as a wedding gift. A Patek Philippe watch is out of the question because he got a very nice watch a couple years ago and doesn’t need a new one. I’d really like to get him something that he can use on the day of our wedding. Maybe I could get him an embroidered handkerchief – something with his initials on it? That way he could carry it with him when we get married. I’m all about thoughtful, personal gifts that demonstrate some sentimental value. I guess I’ve got to do a lot more thinking … and that’s not the only gift I have to worry about! I still have to do the gifts for the bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl and ring bearer!

When we got married, I purchased jewelry for my bridesmaids. Something simple that they could wear for the ceremony and still use after the ceremony. I love the handkerchief idea for the grooms gift… I never thought about that one! I bought Jeff a money clip and a nice leather wallet. Good luck purchasing the gifts. :)

Hm… hate to say it but I don’t really know what to tell ya!
When I was a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding, she gave all of the bridesmaids and candlelighters (there was no flower girl) a matching necklace/bracelet on the night of the rehearsal dinner. She also gave me a little glass angel (also at the rehearsal dinner), which I still keep on my dresser. We were and still are very close, and I’ll never forget when she gave me that angel- she said it was because “you’re my angel”. Very special.
As far as gifts for the groom, and really for all of them… I think you kinda have to look at the person. What is special between you and them? What would they appreciate? You don’t have to give them jewelry, a watch, etc. just because it’s traditional. It’s your wedding, so give them something that is special to YOU.
