Next baking adventure

Besides Everyday Italian, my next favorite Food Network show is Barefoot Contessa. I’ll admit, she seemed very snobby to me when I first started watching her, but she’s really grown on me. I’ve also come to really like her recipes (even though I haven’t tried any - they sound delicious though)!

I recently purchased a tart pan because of one of Ina’s fruit tart recipes I had seen. Tom always think I’m buying things “just because” and that I won’t ever use them. He’s usually wrong - at least with anything having to do with cooking or baking. I actually use all the utensils and appliances that we have!

Anyway, because of school starting (I’m in my third week of the semester), I haven’t had time to try this recipe out. This weekend, though, Tom is going to be here, and I think I’m going to have drinks and dessert with a couple of friends I’ve had since freshman year. I’m going to try Ina’s Lemon Curd Tart. My only problem is that I don’t have a food processor, so I’m not sure how I’m going to swing the zest and sugar thing. I think I’ll just grate the zest off of the lemon, instead of doing it in big slices like she recommends.

You know, I thoroughly enjoy sharing my cooking and baking with people. I also really enjoy visiting other cooking and baking blogs. My point is, please share with me your baking/cooking links - whether they be recipes, a site you visit, WHATEVER. If you like it, chances are I will too.

she always sounds real snobby to me, too. lol. i watched her just today. wasn’t a big idea of the fried goat cheese or whatev, and she kinda cracks me up how she acts proper - but i still like her passion for food. i love everyday italian and i also like that one where she does almost homemade food… i don’t know the exact name and i’ve only watched a few times but yeah.

did you see the other day when i posted cupcakeblog.com on my website? it’s one of my favorite baking sites.

Do you mean Semi Homemade with Sandra Lee? I couldn’t stand her, but after I watched an hour long Chefography and found out that she raised her siblings and basically the most creative woman ever, I started to like her. I still can’t stand her show though, for whatever reason.

I did see the Cupcakeblog.com site; in fact, I bookmarked it after I read that post! :)
