Upcoming week
I don’t know why, but this past weekend seemed particularly relaxing and peaceful to me. Yesterday I spent several hours at the law school. I definitely learned a lot that I didn’t know and loved everything about it. I sat through a mock class, got called on, and even volunteered! Despite my nervousness, I was more than prepared, especially compared to the people around me. Not once did I feel anxious or have an anxiety attack! That’s the first situation I have been in where I anticipated feeling anxious and overwhelmed, but my heart rate didn’t even increase the slighest bit. That was a pleasant surprise, which helped me feel more confident.
This week, Tom will be out of town again until Thursday evening. We agreed that we would celebrate Valentine’s Day on Friday instead so that he could be rested without feeling completely rushed. Today we went to Target and got cards for each other (in “secret”, haha) which we will save for Friday too. We’re planning a homecooked meal of Caesar salad, lobster, and some side with wine and candles. We’ll probably do our favorite dessert - strawberry shortcake. It’ll be fun, especially because I have an exam on Friday morning and I’ll want an excuse to not do school work for a night.
My exam is in Criminological Theory, and I’m totally not stressing about it because a) I haven’t missed a day of it, and b) I love the class and completely understand everything. It’s a little more indepth than my Crim class was last semester but focuses on some theories we didn’t go over. I find everything we talk about extremely interesting (and actually have put in my two cents often in the class), so the exam should be super easy.
I made the easiest meal tonight for dinner - something even you can make, Jess! I took the Three Cheese Chicken Voila package (it comes frozen), added a small can of mushrooms, an extra 1/2 cup of water, about a cup of chicken broth, a small package of fresh broccoli, and about a quarter of a bag of mixed frozen vegetables. I brought it to a simmer, put a lid on for about 10 minutes, and then added some Kraft Light Italian Dressing, salt, and pepper. I let it simmer for a couple more minutes, took it off the heat (so it could thicken a little bit), and then served it. It was really easy and delicious! Plus, it incorporated some things I needed to use up because otherwise they would have gone bad since Tom will be gone all week. AND, there’s plenty for leftovers this week!
What are you doing this week? I hope you all have had as relaxing a weekend as I have, and that your week is even better!

it really inspires me, knowing that you did not have a panic attack, or get nervous. isn’t it amazing? i’m so proud of you.
yum, the dinner sounds delish. this week, i’m just probably going to lay around the house. i do need to find a job, or start looking into another school. i may volunteer at the hospital here, just to have something to do during the days.
i hope you have a wonderful week!!!

I am not doing anything, lol. Yes, I am sick AGAIN! I am glad to hear about the class. :) I have always loved the thought of studying law. :) Is that eventually your goal to go to law school?
